Ehsan is an Architectural, Urban, and Environmental Designer whose work engages design at the intersection of hydrology, cosmology, community, and urban aspirations in the face of assymetrical environmental violence. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from BRAC University, Bangladesh (2021) and a Master of Urban Design from the University of Michigan (2024). His academic and professional trajectory bridges design, research, and pedagogy across diverse geographies; from instructing undergraduate design studios in Bangladesh to working with the housing movement in São Paulo, Brazil, through the University of Michigan’s Public Design Corps.
At Taubman College, Ehsan works as a Research Associate on Nature-based Solutions for stormwater management in Southeast Michigan, bordering the Great Lakes. His current work centers on integrating design, ecology, and policy to advance urban resilience and socio-spatial justice. Previously, as part of the Hydrology, Land Use, and Climate Change (HYLUCC) Lab at Michigan, he explored GIS, remote sensing, and cartography as critical instruments for understanding how maps can privilege certain worldviews while obscuring others.
Ehsan’s ongoing research reflects a commitment to rethinking water, landscape, and infrastructure through collective and ecological lenses, grounding spatial practice in the lived realities of communities most affected by environmental transformation.
Ehsan is an incoming graduate student at the Master of Environmental Design (MED) at Yale School of Architecture (Class of 2028).
